If you are an avid follower of fashion design and the industry itself, then you surely must have heard of Carven. Now owned by the Daniel Harlant Group that places major focus on developing fragrances, the founder of Carven was actually Carmen de Tommasso, who was born in France. Madame Carmen actually studied architecture at first, but shifted to fashion design, which was her first passion. It was in 1945 when she opened her business in the fashion capital of Paris, dubbing it Carven. Interestingly, the reason behind this name lies in the fact that Carven is a modification of Carmen.

It was in 1956 when she started releasing her collections, the first ever being on sweaters. This was just the first because after the release of that collection, there came so many licensed products that people all over the world welcomed with open arms. The main thing that separates Carven from other prominent designers is the fact that she pays much attention in the incorporation of very feminine details in her clothes. These delicate touches of white or of lace on the embroidery trim of her clothes make her clothes stand out amongst the works of other designers. Of course, Madame Carmen’s collection expanded into a whole new level as well.

The year 1957, for instance, saw Carven expanding into neckwear and releasing its collection of premier quality ties to the public. In 1954, Carven also released its swimwear collection. Furs quickly followed in 1966, as well as its new jewelry line, its blouse collection, and its Ma Fille children’s line, all released in 1968. This was also the year when its first ever collection of men’s wear was released. In 1985, the Monsieur Carven boutique opened its doors in Paris, and the business also ventured into designing uniforms for many airline companies, including SAS, Air India, Aerolineas Argentinas, and Air France as well.

But when it comes to its fragrance line, Carven has long been developing their own scents and blends, even dating back to the 1946. The following fragrances have taken to the liking of a lot of people all over the world: Ma Griffe, Robe d’un Soire, Chasse Gardee, Vertiver, Vert et Blanc, Eau Vive, Monsieur Carven, Madame de Carven, Intrigue, Les Exclusives, Carven Homme, and Cabaret for both men and women.

Lindsay Lohan’s life has been the subject of media scrutiny. But one thing remains for sure – she’s definitely one hot and sexy celebrity who has kept our eyes glued on with her every move. And just recently, she posed as Marilyn Monroe in the new spring fashion issue of New York magazine. Recreating Monroe’s legendary 1962 final photo shoot, Lohan said she was comfortable being nude in front of the camera.

Born in New York, 21-year-old Lohan began her career as a child fashion model for magazine advertisement and television commercials. At age 10, she began her acting career in soap opera. She made her motion picture debut in 1998 via the Disney remake of The Parent Trap, in which she played identical twins Hallie and Annie.

The hot and sexy young actress eventually rose to stardom with her leading roles in films such as Freaky Friday (2003), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), Mean Girls (2004), and Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005). She also appeared in Just My Luck (2005), A Prairie Home Companion (2006), Bobby (2006), and I Know Who Killed Me (2007), among others.

In December 2004, Lohan embarked on a second career, launching her debut album Speak. All men have the potential to look classy when wearing a tie. Unfortunately, the wrong tie can also make you look unimportant, immature, or even sleazy. If you’re a business professional, your tie makes a statement about you before the first handshake is even made. But here’s something you probably don’t know – ties are sexy. I love watching a man put one on – and I absolutely drool when he takes it off. I’d love to explain why that is, but I can’t. Just know that it’s something many women thoroughly enjoy watching. So let’s get you sexy. We’ll start with the basic knot styles:

Bowtie

See the pic of hawt, hawt Daniel Craig The James Bond promo? That’s the only way this looks good. Yeah, I know, what else are you going to wear with a tux? Fair enough. Go ahead and wear it, it will do. But do not wear one with a regular suit unless you’re related to Orville Redenbacher. And plan on sleeping solo, if you do.

That said, if I see you wearing one of these at the end of the evening, with your bowtie undone and your collar open just a bit… I’ll probably find you rather delicious looking!

Double / Full Windsor

This is the knot real men wear. This knot tells your client you’re confident and competent the second they step into your office. This knot also appeals to women. If you took 6 cloned men, used a different tie knot on each of them and then asked a woman to choose the man she’d prefer to sleep with, I’d bet the farm on Mr. Windsor. Why? It’s just a theory, but I think it has to do with size. Oh, it’s subconscious, to be sure. Ties are not traditional phallic symbols. However, as a female, I can tell you it’s the tie’s wide, thick appearance that appeals to me. I always find myself admiring the knot, for some reason. Sometimes I have to stop myself from asking if I can touch it! They are just sexy, somehow. Perhaps it’s because they make the other styles look a bit… well… limp.

Half Windsor

This one is less complicated and many men prefer it. Obviously, I prefer you take the time to sort the Double Windsor out. But if you’re totally against it, this is the next best thing. Just remember, you’re going to look smallish and less important whenever Mr. Windsor walks into the room.

Do you really want to be second best?

I didn’t think so!

The Prince Albert

Eh, sometimes this looks good, most of the time the material’s too thin to produce a good sized knot. I’ve seen a few politicians pull it off, but generally this doesn’t do much for me. The objective is to produce an elongated shape. You’ll recall I was just telling you the width is what gets you noticed. The more elongated, the less wide it’s going to look.

Four In Hand

This is also called the schoolboy knot – that ought to tell you something. Real men do not wear these. Whether you’re too unskilled or just too lazy to manage one of the Windsor knots, this is not going to inspire confidence. Nor is it going make a woman think naughty thoughts about you.

The Clip-On

Mark Valley’s gorgeous self wears nice ties on the TV show Boston Legal. He looks studly in them. Which is why I was completely stunned to see him remove one of them during an episode. Yes, he was wearing a clip-on! I don’t know if he normally does that on the show, or if that was just for comedic effect – but the man was wearing one. Surprisingly, the tie looked pretty damned good! Now, that doesn’t mean I recommend you run out and buy one. If you ever have to remove it in front of someone, they will probably tinkle their panties with laughter. I know I nearly did. But if you’re sure you won’t get caught, it’s an option. Just know that you are one lazy man if you go that route!

There are a few other tie knots out there, but I think these are the ones most men are familiar with and use.

There is nothing nicer to a woman than to be dressed in the latest fashion. Of course fashion differs in taste and there are many trends. For the more conservative dresser though there is nothing nicer than to have a beautiful dress, matching shoes, appropriate jewelry, makeup and hairstyle.

To get the most out of fashion it is important for a woman to know her fashion accessories. Fashion accessories can give a woman’s out fit that special touch and can make the difference of being either run of the mill or somewhat unique in appearance. Fashion accessories can take an outfit from the mundane to the appreciated.

Fashion or costume jewelry can also appear impressive. For those who might like a bohemian look jewelry items such as bead necklaces, bracelets and belts made from wood can make quite an impact Beads can also be made from other material including bone, shells, plastic and other materials can uplift a woman’s appearance. Just because these items are cheap does not mean that the wearer will appear cheap, however special care needs to be taken in the way they might blend in with the rest of the clothes being worn.

There are many places you could use to buy your fashion accessories. Thrift shops or charities often carry an interesting range of fashion accessories. Maria Menounos, a journalist by trade but hottie by nature, possesses great looks and the poise of a TV veteran. As a Hollywood correspondent, she often draws more attention than her famous interviewees do. We might have to “sign off” to go and find this former beauty queen…

A lot of people criticized me at a young age because I wanted to do a lot of different things, she says. “And that’s just how I am. I’m happiest when I’m doing a million things. When Maria quit her job as a correspondent for entertainment tonight to focus on her acting career in 2005, many of her fans were disappointed that they would no longer get to feast their eyes upon her on a daily basis. Fortunately, later that year, Maria had a change of heart and became a correspondent for both The Today Show and Access Hollywood. But that hasn’t distracted Maria from her acting goals. She has landed several roles in popular TV series and movies since her departure from ET, including one in Fantastic Four (2005) alongside Jessica Alba.

Making her grand entrance on June 8th, 1978 in Medford, Massachusetts, Maria Menounos was a shining star at birth. In 1995, thanks to the encouragement of her friends and family, Menounos began to enroll in beauty pageants. The following year, she won the title of Miss Massachusetts Teen USA. Every year the world of fashion comes up with new fashion styles that are influenced by different seasons and this year is certainly not different. So what are the current fashion trends of spring and summer 2009?

These days we can clearly see not only the rise of brand new styles that have never been seen before, but we are experiencing the comeback of some old fashion trends. Next colour, which by the way has endured from last winter, is purple and certainly shouldn’t be missing in your wardrobe in the spring and summer if you like to radiate and attract and arouse curiosity in men.

On the fashion walks we could see different tones of light green colour as a result of approaching spring. Some designers have also decided to follow lighter tones like sky blue, metallic and grey because they are considered to be a classic spring colours.

Other colours like yellow, orange and gold are going to emerge more often towards June and July, as they represent the beauty of summer and every woman’s gratification during this season.

Another colour you should have in your wardrobe is gold, although it should be used more with accessories. We certainly shouldn’t leave out white and black and their combinations, as they are always good to enhance elegance and feminine features in every woman. Brown is a colour for every occasion and thus is one of the colours of current fashion trends. Most of us were already getting tired of this long and cold winter and so we have all welcomed warmer temperatures. And as a new season is almost here we can obviously experience a big shift in daily outfits. Every skinny woman who wants to be attractive and look sexy should take an advantage of exposed midriff. You might think it could be too courageous for some women but it certainly is effective and also very practical in hot summer. So if your body shape can afford such a luxury just give it a shot and stay in a line with current fashion trends.

Another revealing feature of the following spring and summer are going to be one shoulder dresses. So this is a good chance for you to take an advantage of it and flatter your surrounding with the sexy look of your shoulders.

Because this year is more feminine driven than any other, the pants and the shorts are not presented as an extensive part of fashion catwalks. When it comes to motifs then flora and folk motifs of Africa and North America are going to be very popular as they represent the spirit of current season when the nature is awaking and growing to the same beauty as you can achieve in such an outfit. Also the star pattern from the last year is going to be replaced with a butterfly motif.Fringing is another thing that outlasted from winter and is going to be very popular this spring and summer. One important skill that you will need to have in fashion design is drawing. Learning to draw out your fashion design ideas is something of importance that can’t be overstated.

The better you are at drawing detailed ideas of yours and others design ideas, the better you will be at communicating your ideas to others in the business. It is important that you learn to make detailed drawings that show even the most minute details in a creation. The more that you work on drawing out your ides the more the good ideas will pop into your head.

Great ideas are the core of becoming a great fashion designer, because the best fashion designers are true visionaries. This is because, they have to think a full year ahead of everyone else, for this years line of fashion products started out as ideas that were drawn out the previous year.

It is also important to remember that not every idea they you are going to have is going to be a big splash. Many song writers write songs for years before they develop the ability to write songs that sell. Being able to feel what people want can come from seeing what they don’t want.

This means that if your ideas turn out to meet rejection then don’t worry about it and just go back to the drawing pad and come up with something new to present. In time you will develop a better sense for what people are willing to accept and then you can rely on that sense when you are drawing your new ideas.
